Hi,
I am about to buy a 1988 Moody 31, she looks very well. Engine is 2002 yanmar 27Hp. There is no leak inside of boat, main and genoa sail are in good condition. I have 2 question about this 1988 mkII 31.
1.Side windows have appearance like cracks but actually they are not. Is it easy to change glass of the windows?
2. She hasn't portable table on the deck. I am wondering about if there is a portable table on original ones. Thanks for your answers in advance.

Hi Gokhan and welcome,

Firstly, congratulations on your choice of boat to buy. Once you have bought her, you will find it's worth joining the MOA as a full member - the guidance you can get on here will save you more than the subscription costs.

It sounds like your side windows (portlights) are suffering from an effect we call crazing. which results from exposure to ultraviolet light, so is almost inevitable with age. To replace the acrylic glazing, you will need to remove the windows from the boat. It is possible to replace the glazing yourself, and you will find guidance on how to do it on this site by using the search facility. In the UK, there are many companies offering a reglazing service, so personally I would send the portlights to them and expect them back, reglazed, in a week or two; Three of these companies advertise in Compass, the MOA magazine, so are listed here:

There are also many others.

The style of cockpit table you need depends on whether your intended boat is wheel or tiller steered. Aftermarket designs are available for both options, something like these:

wheel steered: https://www.jefa.com/steering/products/accessories/tables/table-150.htm
tiller steered: https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?img...hUKEwienq6f_4HqAhXG4YUKHTKyCf4QMygDegUIARDLAg

They always seem to me expensive for what they are!

Peter.
