    Boat name:
    Berthon, Lymington
    Boat type:
    Moody 422
    Cruising area:
    SW and Brittany
We are an established syndicate of 3/4 people who have owned our beloved 422 since she was 2 years old in 1990. The boat is currently based in Lymington and has been yard maintained from new. She has been constantly updated and has loads of 'stuff' including recent Raymarine radar plotter electronics, and new Esbacher heater. To my mind the 422 is by far the best of Moody's production of that period, in that she sails beautifully, will motor fast, and has very good accommodation, with superior build quality. Double aft cabin is magnificent!

Can sleep 8 but also can be sailed by a couple with ease.

One of our members now needs to sell his share. We run the syndicate as a total democracy, every one has equal right to use the boat and all costs are consequently split equally between the owners. We do not normally sail together, so this would suit a competent sailor wishing to cruise on a lovely boat without having to own one outright.

We are offering either 20% or 40% to new keen owners. The boat is probably worth about £70,000, but 20% share is available for £12000 (40%-£24000). This is a very low capital price to buy into a well found 42ft boat, but reflects the fact that she does need loving and looking after, so annual costs tend to be a little higher than they would be on a newer boat- we think she is worth it!
