Solar Vs. Wind

Discussion in 'Thinking of buying a Moody ask a question here' started by Kenneth Staub, 20/9/16.

  1. We purchased a 45 Ds but have not taken delivery yet.
We are debating about solar panels vs. wind turbin to aid in electrical charging.
We primarily sail in the Med.
Worried about loosing deck space with solar panels and noise with turbines.
    Any suggestions?

On our moody 44, currently in Greece we have 340W solar and a D400 wind generator (quietest on the market).

We find the solar panels give far more power (wish I got more) than the wind generator. In the med wind often too light to generate sufficient energy. Thus for the med I strongly recommend solar panels first snd lots of them. Secondly I would go for water generator for extra power when sailing.

    Kind regards,

This isn't the board to post this enquiry - perhaps you might join the MOA since you have become a Moody Owner and I will move it to the main board.
