Non Boat Specific Boat surveyor in Southampton area

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of purchasing a Moody 31 MKII and am looking for a recommendation for a good boat surveyor with experience in this model or Moody in general, specifically in the Southampton area.

If anyone has had a positive experience with a surveyor they'd like to recommend, I'd greatly appreciate your input.

I've previously used Tim from Anchor Marine Surveys, who is Solent-based and owns (or owned at the time) a Moody 28 himself so was pretty familiar with Moodys.

When I nearly bought a Moody 31 I used Nick Vass of Omega Yacht Services. Very knowledgeable and happy for me to accompany him on the survey and talk through his findings and his report was good with plenty of accompanying photographs.
 
Thank you all for the advice. After a few quotes and a couple of calls, I ended up with Chris Wilks. I've used Chris before when purchasing my old Sadler, and I like his report format and the advice given. Nick Vass, who did the survey on the Moody for the previous owner a few years ago, also prepared a well-presented survey that was not much different from Chris's approach.

Do report back after you receive the new survey to update us on whether Chris continues to deliver a good service, as this will be useful for future purchasers also looking :)
