Moody 31 MkII Internal head height

Hi Everyone,

That's for having me on here.

So l, I'm thinking of buying a Moody 31mk2/S31. Zero sailing experience. I've spent weeks reading up on options and the competition and keep coming back to the Moody despite the 'risk' of a nearly 40 year old boat.

I live in Manchester so viewing involves some travel. The only boat I've managed to view so far is a Jen SO32. I'm 6'1 and the head room was fine.

So my question is, what is the internal head room like Moody 31 or S31?

And any other advice you can throw at me greatly received.

I’m 6’ and have had a 31 mk2 for 18 years. No issue with headroom at the galley end. It reduces going forward but I’ve never even thought that it was problem. I sail with a friend who is taller than me (he has an Oceanis31) and he hasn’t mentioned it.

Great boats and the 31 has more storage than the S31. The original engines are getting a bit old. I put a Beta 30 in mine two years ago and it is superb. They offer a discount to MOA members.
