Tidecatcher
It is with some reluctance that I have decided to place my cherished fin-keel Moody 31 (mk2) ‘Tidecatcher’ (1987) on the market. Having decided that this is very likely to be my final year sailing, and with the normal winter maintenance now complete, I intend to float her and sail her locally throughout the coming summer, whilst at the same time marketing her tentatively for sale.
Tidecatcher has been in my ownership now for 9 years and during that time she has been meticulously maintained and improved. The engine was renewed in 2019 (Beta30 - 255hrs) as featured in PBO (Aug 2020).
The extensive list of improvements during my ownership includes new Hyde sails, Lewmar ST40 winches, all new canvas work, standing rigging renewed, Lewmar Pro1000 anchor windlass, full LED lighting, Raymarine instruments, C80 chartplotter, wind, Dual depth/electronic log. An IYE ‘C’ series mainsheet track has been fitted, giving much better mainsheet control, and all control lines are led back to the cockpit. A list detailing many other improvements is available for inspection.
During my ownership Tidecatcher has been lifted out every winter for storage and basic maintenance. This includes the removal of the mast, which is covered and stored during the winter months. The new engine has been serviced annually, and all maintenance records are available, as are the original ship’s documents.
In short, this craft has been very well cared for and considerably improved during my period of ownership. If anything required to be sorted or renewed, then it was sorted or renewed.
Tidecatcher will be (as of tomorrow) currently afloat in Edinburgh and available for test and inspection. Asking price £28,000.
Any enquiries to Brian, either through the MOA or mob. 07340 208528
